Searching notes

Find notes across the workspace with the search command.

Last updated

Plainwork indexes the title and body of every note in every collection you have access to.

  • Click the search pill in the top nav, or
  • Press +K (Ctrl+K on Windows/Linux).
  • Start typing; results appear after two characters.
  • Each result shows the note title, a highlighted snippet, and the collection it lives in.
  • Press / to move through results.
  • Press Enter to open the selected result.
  • Press Esc to close.

What's searched

  • Every note title in your workspace.
  • Every note body, including headings, paragraphs, lists, and code blocks.
  • Property values are not part of the free-text search — filter in a view instead.

Ranking

Results are ranked by a relevance score that considers term frequency, title vs. body, and recency. Exact title matches tend to sit at the top.

Scope

Search is scoped to the currently-active workspace. Switch workspaces from the org switcher if you need to search another one.
